This article explores the intricate relationship between corruption and organized crime, emphasizing how these phenomena reinforce each other and undermine public institutions, economic development, and social cohesion. Through a comprehensive review of national and international literature, the study investigates the causes and consequences of corruption and its economic impacts, focusing on the interconnectedness between criminal networks and state agents. It shows how corruption - especially within police and political systems - facilitates impunity for organized crime, influencing elections, public policies, and the democratic process. The article identifies several levels of collusion between organized crime and the state, including bribery, institutional infiltration, and strategic alliances during elections. It also examines future risks, such as urban disorder, institutional fragility, and the expansion of cybercrime. The study concludes that addressing this issue requires integrated strategies, institutional strengthening, international cooperation, and enhanced civic engagement.
